Need406: Can you tell us a little about the Metal Hall of Fame and how it came to be?

Pat: As a studio/touring drummer, I have worked on projects with various major artists, record company executives, and drum companies as a clinician. I am also a fan of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music, along with prog and fusion. Several years ago, I came up with the idea to start an organization with Board of Directors comprised of major industry executives to honor those rock and metal musicians and industry personnell, who have worked so hard to continue this genre of music we love so much.

Need406 : How did you get involved with the Metal Hall of Fame?

Pat: It was out of my love for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music that led me to start the Metal Hall of Fame.

Need406: On January 24, 2024 the Metal Hall of Fame will be inducting some new members into the hall. Can you tell us how the Metal Hall of Fame decided upon which artists to be inshrined this year?

Pat: The process of being Inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame starts directly with the fans. It's all about them!! Fans from all over the world vote on their favorite artists at the Metal Hall of Fame website, who can vote all year long. Fan votes are then compiled by the Metal Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, and nominees are then voted on by the board, and then Inducted.

Need406: Can you give us a hint on any of the surprise guests or live music performances that may happen at this year's event?

Pat: As always, The 2024 Metal Hall of Fame Gala will feature performances. This year, Kings of Thrash with David Ellefson and Chris Poland, Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake, and others!!

Need406: For you personally who are some of the inductees you are the most excited about being in the Metal Hall of Fame?

Pat: As a huge fan of metal, as well as the founder, I am excited for each artist that we Induct.

Need406: Why do you feel this night is the most important night in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal?

Pat: Many of our fans and media around the world feel that way, as we are a very special night.

Need406: Does the Metal Hall of Fame have any plans on broadcasting or streaming this year's ceremony or future induction ceremonies?

Pat: We will announce recorded streaming video for the gala soon.

Need406: Can you give us any insight on who might be inducted in the upcoming years?

Pat: It is often difficult to plan the Inductees far in advance, as the process is dependent upon touring activities etc.

Need406: How can Metal fans nominate someone for consideration into the Metal Hall of Fame?

Pat: Fans can vote all year for their favorite artist or band at MetalHallOfFame.org.

Need406: Where does a fan go to purchase a Metal Hall of Fame Box of Goodies and what exactly do you get when you buy one?

Pat: We recently recorded the Metal Hall of Fame All Star CD, which features Tim "Ripper" Owens, Bob Daisley, Steve Vai, Mike Orlando, Geoff Tate, Joe Satriani, Chris Impellitteri, Bruce Kulick, Rudy Sarzo, Mike Tirelli, Tony MaCalpine, Derek Sherinian, Michael Romeo, and Chris Poland.  100% of all proceeds goes to bringing free music programs to help special needs children and wounded veterans in health facilities and community centers.
